CPC Urges Withdrawal of Judge Kavanaugh's Nomination and Vows to Exercise House Oversight on Perjury Allegations

Congressional Progressive Caucus Co-Chairs Mark Pocan (WI-02) and Raúl M. Grijalva (AZ-03), along with CPC First Vice Chair Pramila Jayapal (WA-07) led a letter to President Trump calling for the withdrawal of Judge Kavanaugh's nomination to the Supreme Court. The group of 39 Democrats, including eight CPC Members who serve on the House Judiciary Committee, further committed to exercising constitutional oversight to investigate evidence of possible perjury committed by Judge Kavanaugh. Lying under oath to the Senate would be a federal crime.

CPC Sends Bicameral Letter of Inquiry to Private Equity Firms Overseeing Toys 'R Us Bankruptcy and 33,000 Worker Layoffs

Today, Members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, led by Co-Chairs Rep. Raúl M. Grijalva (D-AZ) and Rep. Mark Pocan (D-WI), along with CPC Vice Chair Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN), and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), sent a bicameral letter of inquiry with 15 other Members of Congress to the private equity firms that owned, managed and indebted the company Toys ‘R Us prior to its announced bankruptcy and layoffs of 33,000 employees. The Members of Congress seek answers regarding the firms' questionable management practices and inquire into any plans to offer severance pay to all laid-off Toys ‘R Us workers.
