On December 5, 2022, after conversations with members and movements, the Congressional Progressive Caucus issued its agenda for the Lame Duck session of the 117th Congress. The CPC urged the House and Senate Democratic majorities to use the final weeks of unified control and maximize this short but critical window to influence must-pass legislation, use simple majorities in the House and Senate to lift the debt ceiling to prevent Republican hostage-taking efforts in mid-2023, and more, staying in session until the work is done.
