The Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC) will host an ad hoc hearing this Wednesday, Nov. 16, on America’s top priority: job creation. The hearing will feature economists and other critical voices that have been excluded from the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction’s debate over how to fix our nation’s economic woes. Over the past several months, the so-called super-committee has met in secret in an attempt to reach a $1.2 trillion deficit reduction deal. The ad hoc hearing will feature Prof. Jeffrey Sachs, Dr. Julianne Malveaux, economist Dr. John Irons with the Economic Policy Institute, Robert Borosage, co-director of the Campaign for America’s Future, and Dr. Rob Johnson of the Roosevelt Institute and Patriotic Millionaires.
