WASHINGTON, D.C. - On Wednesday, December 7th, Sen. Sanders, Rep. Ellison, Rep. Pocan, Rep. Schakowsky, and fellow members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus will address low-wage federal contract workers as they call on President-elect Trump to stop all federal contractors from shipping jobs overseas and stealing pay from U.S. workers.

The federal government is America’s leading low-wage job employer, with more than 2 million jobs in the private sector through contracts, loans, and grants. A new study shows that federal contractors steal as much as $2.5 billion from contract workers annually by paying them less than the minimum wage, forcing them to work off the clock, and by misclassifying workers as “independent contractors.”
