WASHINGTON, DC—Today, Congressional Progressive Caucus Co-Chairs Rep. Raúl M. Grijalva (D-AZ) and Rep. Mark Pocan (D-WI) issued the following statement in response to the Trump Administration’s decision to implement a “domestic gag rule” which places limits on the ability of Title X providers to offer reproductive health services and provide accurate information to the millions of women and families who seek care at Title X institutions:

“The Trump Administration’s egregious rule to stifle access to health services is a direct assault on the rights of women. By picking and choosing the types of medial options and services health care providers can discuss, President Trump is injecting himself and his radical anti-choice views into millions of highly personal doctor-patient conversations, endangering women, and limiting their access to important health information.

“This rule is yet another Republican attack on women working to make ends meet, as the Title X program offers vital services to those most in need, including many without health insurance. Instead of attacking women and creating unnecessary barriers to care, we call on Congress to pass the EACH Woman Act and ensure that all women—no matter their income level, employment status, or circumstance—have access to vital health care services.”
