In response to an Arizona state legislator calling for the execution of Chair Emerita Pramila Jayapal, Congressional Progressive Caucus Chair Greg Casar issued the following statement:
“It is unacceptable that my friend and Progressive Caucus Chair Emerita Pramila Jayapal has been targeted with death threats for using her voice to promote nonviolent resistance. Whether against elected officials, individuals, or organizations, calls for political violence have no place in our country and must be treated as unacceptable. These threats further fuel the political violence epidemic in this country. Political leaders from both parties should denounce this unequivocally, and Arizona legislators should hold this man accountable.”
