WASHINGTON, D.C.– Congressional Progressive Caucus Co-Chairs Rep Raúl Grijalva (D-AZ) and Rep. Mark Pocan (D-WI) made the following statement today on the “Day of Action to Save Net Neutrality.”
“During this era of corporate consolidation and growing attacks on free speech, now more than ever, it is vital to protect the Open Internet and Net Neutrality. FCC Chairman Pai and Republicans in Congress are attempting to roll back critical net neutrality protections so that big telecom companies can control the content and price of internet access. We can’t let this happen. Net neutrality spurs innovation, education, and democratic engagement by leveling the playing field for everyone. It must be protected and strengthened.”
“We should be looking forward and investing in policies that will create a competitive telecommunications market and ensure universal access to high-speed broadband – not rolling back protections for consumers and giving even more power to an already-concentrated industry. The CPC applauds the activists joining together to support the Open Internet.”
