Representatives Summer Lee, Morgan McGarvey, Pramila Jayapal, Ayanna Pressley, and Jan Schakowsky introduced the People’s Response Act, which creates a Division of Public Safety within the Department of Health and Human Services to fund, conduct, and coordinate research, technical assistance, and grant programs related to non-carceral, health-centered investments in public safety.
