Representative Rosa DeLauro introduced The FAMILY Act in the 119th Congress. This bill provides all workers (including younger, part-time, lower-wage, contingent, and self-employed workers) with up to 12 weeks of partial income during family and medical leave, creates a new Office of Paid Family and Medical Leave, and guarantees that workers are reinstated following their leave. For typical full-time workers, this bill provides around two-thirds of their normal wages. This bill also ensures that low-wage workers earn up to 85 percent of their normal wages.
