Representative Ayanna Pressley introduced The Fair Pay for Federal Contractors Act, which secures back pay for thousands of federal contract workers - including low-wage service workers providing janitorial, food, and security services - who have faced furloughs and missed paychecks during the government shutdown. The bill would provide backpay in an amount equal to their weekly compensation up to $1,442 (250% of the federal poverty level for a family of four).
This bill is co-sponsored by Rep. Norcross, Norton, and Fitzpatrick.
