Washington, D.C. - Congressional Progressive Caucus Co-Chairs Rep. Raúl Grijalva (D-AZ) and Rep. Mark Pocan (D-WI) released the following statement in support of a resolution to censure President Trump for his January 11, 2018 comments disparaging El Salvador, Haiti, and African countries.

“Our country has come too far to allow one man to upend generations of progress and spew racist rhetoric that reflects his own personal ideas and values. Congress must vote to censure President Trump as a last effort to prevent his malicious words from causing lasting damage to domestic peace and international order. We call on Speaker Ryan to bring this resolution to the House floor for a vote immediately. Anything less from Republicans is truly resounding consent.”
